I normally leave my RV plugged in all the time. I do so mainly to keep my batteries topped up and also to keep my pipes from freezing. I worry if this will damage my batteries. Also is it safe to leave your RV plugged in all the time?

Leaving your RV plugged in all the time to keep your batteries topped up is generally not a problem, as long as you take a few precautions. Most modern RVs have a converter charger built in, which is designed to keep your RV batteries charged when connected to shore power.
You may not only end up damaging your battery but all have frozen refrigerator coils. It is better that the RV is charged for a short duration.
I would suggest that you don't leave it plugged all the time. It would cause more damage than benefit to your vehicle.
Plugging in the RV all the time will reduce your battery life as it will deplete the battery electrolyte. A battery tender can be of help to overcome this.
